Container gardens and gardening - small gardens

Here are some interesting images of container gardens.

Top:

Small round 'pot' made of brick and tile. The roots go down into the ground.

Second:

Pot used as decoration. In the back you can see a large area which is a built-up container containing a lot of soil, which is actually above a car park.

Third:

This is a large concrete container used in hotels etc but you can build up part of your garden to contain plants.

Bottom:

Row of plants used to brighten up an ugly security perimeter wall (note glass on top).

Awnings, in Gardens, Marquees, Canopies of various shapes and sizes

Awnings of various shapes and sizes. The first is a large one that covers a whole food court, this show one corner. It is a metal awning - actually an overall canopy - probably steel building construction as it is rust free and stronger than metal. More photos and images of this large metal canopy will be on soon.

This next is a marquee for a garden party, in a hot place, complete with four air con units (ac, air conditioning) to blast cold air into the middle of the marquee - this is not very 'green' but in colder climates, heating is taken for granted. Air con has a bad name as the 'natives' should sweat a bit...

And this last one is an eco green canopy , with a canopy with a straw roof on a wooden timber painted structure. This is less strong than a metal one but just as durable.
